ABOUT US
HISTORY OF ST. THERESE LEARNING CENTER
In 1981, amidst the foreseen development of a residential-commercial community of Bago Bantay, Mrs. Leticia R. Bajacan founded an educational institution and named it ST. THERESE LEARNING CENTER of QUEZON CITY (in honor of her favorite saint, ST. THERESE of LISIEUX). After 25 years of dedicated service in government sectors such as the Department of Education and government-owned educational institutions like the School for the Deaf and Blind, she pursued her long-time dream to establish an educational institution capable of providing quality education without the high costs associated with attending large universities and schools.
Starting with 10 preschool students, holding classes in a private room beside her residence, she saw the number of enrollees increase year after year. This growth prompted her to expand and offer basic education at the elementary level. The school has gained significant recognition in the area due to its systematic and individualized teaching methods, as well as the special accommodations it has extended to students with special needs. Having attained a master's degree in Special education, she advocated that the school is capable of addressing the unique needs of our students while fostering an environment of acceptance and respect, especially for our students with special needs.
Having gained its reputation as an institution that truly upholds academic excellence and advocates a progressive and dynamic educational system, the clamor to level up the courses that we offered intensified. Thus in 2007, the school heeded the demands of the parents of our students to offer High School courses and shortly 3 years after has been granted the Government Recognition by the Department of Education for its High School education.
Our school also boasts of its resilience, especially during the pandemic. While the educational system was greatly challenged by the spread of COVID-19, prompting a shift to a different platform, which is Distance or Online Learning, we were able to adapt. We acquired educational tools from the United States and implemented digitalized school and learning management systems to ensure that learning continues even amid the pandemic, without compromising on quality.
Currently, our school offers multiple platforms, including Hybrid and Distance Learning, to accommodate the diverse preferences of our students, ensuring that our education remains accessible regardless of their location.
To this day, the School remains faithful to its commitment in its quest for “Excellence in Education” and making our “Students of Today…be Leaders of Tomorrow.”
